A Path to Home Ownership

  1. Learn about the home buying process.
Attend homebuyer education classes through an agency.
  2. Choose a lender and get pre-approved.
Make an appointment with a Loan Officer to assess your financial situation. Some of the items that you will need to provide to your lender include:
    • Current income documentation (e.g., paystub, W-2 form, tax return, SSI/SSDI)
    • Verification of assets (e.g., bank statements, retirement account verification)
  3. Start your search for a home.
The home buyers and sellers should use a REALTOR®. REALTORS® can be very helpful in negotiating prices as well as navigating home buyers and sellers through all the steps of purchasing or selling a home.
  4. Submit an offer with the assistance of your REALTOR®.
  5. Work with your Loan Officer to obtain final loan approval.
  6. Attend the Closing.
Share in the excitement and satisfaction of a positive buying or selling experience.
